Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/- Pension benefits will be completed in advance by late 2018, which will allow the government to remove inequities in the payment system. Prime Minister Pavel Filip made the statement today.
The official noted that in Moldova the pensions are still very low, and the government is working to provide the citizens with “the pensions they deserve”.
“In 1999 there was lawlessness, which led to inequity in the pension system. Before speaking of a general rise in pensions, we insisted on removing the old calculation formula and replacing it with one reflecting the proportionality between the salary got by citizens and breakdowns they made in the social fund”, he said.
The premier said that the economic progress will allow the government to support the agenda of social measures for raising the level of life in Moldova. He noted that over the last two years, pensions have been indexed by 10 per cent.
