Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ – Today passed away, Ion Ciubuc, an economist and politician, Prime Minister of Moldova in 1997 – 1999.
Born on 29 May 1943, in Hadarauti village, Ocnita district, Ion Ciubuc graduated the courses of Agricultural Institute in Odessa city, specialty of agrarian economy. Subsequently, he got the scientific degree of Doctor in Economics.
Throughout his life, Ion Ciubuc worked as vice deputy Prime Minister and permanent representative of Government of Chisinau at the Cabinet of Ministers of the USSR, first deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, first deputy Minister of Economy and first Chairman of the Court of Auditors.
For a substantial contribution to improvement of economic – financial control and high professionalism, Ion Ciubuc was awarded order Gloria Muncii (Labour Glory).
We are deeply saddened and regret this loss. We express sincere condolences to the mournful family and all those who have known and appreciated him.
