Moldovan cabinet approves new measures of preventing risk situations, ensuring child's well-being

Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/ - The public medical and sanitary institutions and the education ones will cooperate in the field of child’s protection with the competent authorities and police employees. To this end, the cabinet of ministers today approved an instruction on a mechanism of inter-sectoral collaboration for the primary prevention of risks concerning the well-being of the child, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The document sees making exchange of information between the authorities and way of collecting and analyzing data on the well-being of children, needed to prevent the appearance of risks and, if it is the case, for a quick intervention. The persons in charge of the systematic monitoring of child’s well-being will be nominated depending on the age and education institution attended by children. These people may be: family physician, medical assistant, educator, director of the pre-school institution, class master or headmaster of the education institution.   

The assessment of the child’s well-being will be carried out by periodical filling in of cards which include the well-being sectors hit, actions due to be undertaken to provide support and the necessity of the involvement of other authorities to improve the child’s situation. The new mechanism will allow identifying children victims and potential victims of violence, negligence, exploitation and trafficking, as well as providing adequate assistance to children. Such an approach is related not only to children in classical risk situations, for instance, from one-parent families or with parents left abroad, but regards all children. So that all children   should be provided higher services in terms of their well-being and health safety.
