Moldovan deputy premier meets ambassador of France

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic today had a meeting with Ambassador of France to Moldova Pascal Le Deunff, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The two officials pointed out the priorities of the Reintegration Policies Bureau for 2018. At the same time, the sides reiterated the importance of maintaining positive tendencies within the present formats of talks 1+1 and 5+2.
Other subjects of the dialogue were focused on measures undertaken by the Moldovan government to apostille the education documents issued by the Taras Shevchenko University from Tiraspol, pragmatic mechanisms of implementing the provisions of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement in the Transnistrian region and the latest developments recorded in the activity of the sectoral working groups for the promotion of the confidence building measures.
A special aspect of the discussions represented a possible involvement of the French Alliance from Moldova in backing initiatives of projects in the education sector, for instance, through: providing, as donation, of teaching materials and specialty literature to eight Latin-script Moldovan schools from the Transnistrian region; involvement of teachers, pupils, students and civil servants interested in courses of studying and improving the knowledge of the French language; carrying out of relevant actions through cultural and linguistic programmes implemented in partnership with the Embassy of France in Moldova.
Ambassador Pascal Le Deunff voiced confidence that the constructive developments which had taken place in the negotiations held in 2017 would have continuity this year as well. The diplomat wished Cristina Lesnic outstanding success in exercising her mandate and gave assurances concerning the constant willingness to intervene with every needed support.
In the end, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic described the Moldovan-French bilateral relations as positive, reiterating that Moldova reconfirms its attachment to the Francophone culture and values.
