Moldovan meteorologists issue Yellow Code of sharp weather change

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has informed about a Yellow Code of sharp weather change for 8 February.

According to meteorologists, the weather change is triggered by the movement of a southern cyclone nearby the territory of Moldova.

“On Thursday, precipitation is expected in form of heavy rainfall, rains and sleet in the northern zones, of up to 15-20 litres per one square metre, in all regions during the day. Also, big layers of sleet on wires and branches are forecast. The eastern wind will gust up to 20 metres/second,” a SHS communiqué reads.

The air temperatures are to oscillate between -1 and +4 Celsius degrees in the northern region and between 0 and +9 degrees in the central and southern zones of Moldova during the next 24 hours.
