Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/- The parliamentary faction of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) has a new MP. Aliona Babiuc, who came to parliament on the PCRM lists, recently joined PDM.
MP Sergiu Sarbu made the statement today, noting that the Democrat faction counts 42 MPs.
Aliona Babiuc arrived in parliament on the list of the Party of Communists in mid-December last year and announced she would work outside the PCRM faction.
The MP mandate of Babiuc was validated on 13 December 2017 by the Constitutional Court. She was to take over the vacant seat after Oxana Domenti left. Earlier, the central committee of the PCRM issued a press release in which it opposed the inclusion of Babiuc as part of its faction. According to the PCRM leadership, Babiuc was excluded from the party for several irregularities.
Babiuc is 48 years and is a teacher.
