Moldovan deputy premier meets Russian special representative on Transnistrian settlement

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister, Cristina Lesnic, had a meeting with Special Representative of Russia on Transnistrian settlement, Serghei Gubarev, today, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.  

The purpose of meeting was to hold an exchange of views after important event on 07 February 2018 in Dubasari city, where a historic work meeting took place between the leaders of the local structures of Dubasari district on both banks of the Dniester river, Grigore Polcinschi and Ruslan Ceaban, Ambassador's participation with special missions of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and political representative of Tiraspol, Vitalii Ignatiev.

The meeting was possible due to agreed understanding between political representatives in the process of negotiations for the Transnistrian settlement of Chisinau and Tiraspol, Cristina Lesnic and Vitalii Ignatiev, and reflected a positive opening of parties for a constructive and substantive dialogue with elimination after a period of several years the restriction of free movement for the head of Dubasari district’s council.

The central subject of discussion on 07 February 2018 concerned measures taken by parties to implement provisions of protocol decision of 25 November 2017 "On some measures to regulate problems related to implementation of Mechanism 2006 on the use of agricultural land, located in the Dubasari district, following the Tiraspol – Camenca road", the Moldovan side emphasizing the need to speed up the processes related to approaching of sowing period of the first spring crops, as well as to clarify the responsible officers to which farmers to have access to the arable lands along highway.

The Special Representative of Russia appreciated the event in Dubasari as a positive and productive one, where both sides expressed willingness to solve actual issues, as well as situation of the many artificial barriers needed to be eliminated.

Deputy Prime Minister pointed out necessity to bring initiated processes to a successful end so that in upcoming future access to land to be restored, first spring works to be started, unhindered traffic on administrative line to be ensured and agricultural crops collected in 2018.
