Yellow Code of heavy precipitation announced in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 February /MOLDPRES/ – The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) announced the Yellow Code of heavy rainfalls today.

According to the SHS’s information and media communication service, the warning is valid until 15 February, when strong precipitation is expected. In the northern and central regions they will be in the form of snow and snow in the south predominantly in the form of rain.

The meteorologists specified that precipitations are expected of up to 15 – 20, isolated 20 – 25 litres/m2. Also, there will be signings of scabbards on threads and branches, trojans will form on the roads.

In context of weather warnings, road workers and rescuers recommended drivers to strictly adhere to traffic rules and road signs and, travel at a low speed with ability to handle braking in low visibility conditions. Similarly, pedestrians were warned to avoid areas near trees and cross the street only in authorised spots.
