Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/- The decision approving the Declaration of the Moldovan Parliament on condemning attacks from the Russian Federation on national information security and abusive interference in the political activity in Moldova will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 16 February.
The declaration was adopted on 8 February by MPs of parliamentary majority. The lawmakers of the PSRM and PCRM factions boycotted the meeting. The document was worked out at the initiative of a group of Democratic MPs and condemns the interference of Russia in Moldova’s internal affairs.
The same document includes the lawmakers’ concern about “involvement of Russian entities in political activity in Moldova through patronage of left-wing parties and undemocratic influence of the Moldovans’ vote”.
At the same time, the declaration sees the MPs’ appeal to senior political decision-makers of Russia to stop all these abuses and denigration campaigns, stop any form of supporting political parties in our country, noting that their funding from external sources is illegal, as well as their support in other ways.
On 24 January, the Russian State Duma adopted a declaration on the inadmissibility of Russian media discrimination in Moldova. Russian lawmakers claimed that the ban on broadcasting Russian analytical programs in Moldova is a violation of international legal norms in free access to information. Also, the Russian MPs described the adoption of anti-propaganda law in Chisinau as “another anti-Russian act”.
