Moldovan government approves setting national register of pollutants’ release, transfer

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet of Ministers approved creation of the National Register of Emissions and Transfer of Pollutants (RNETP) at today its meeting today. Its aim is to facilitate citizens' access to environmental info held by public authorities, the government's Communication and Protocol Directorate reports.
The project provides setting of a web page containing data on pollutants emitted from air, water and soil, which may have a potentially harmful effect on environment and health of population. Similarly, there will be developed yearly reports on pollutant emissions and transfers. As such, with wider accessibility to environmental pollution info, citizens are urged to participate in decision – making processes more actively into that segment.
The costs required for creation of Register will be covered by the Global Project for implementation of the Register of Emissions and Transfer of Pollutants.
