More legislative amendments on construction of Ungheni - Chisinau gas pipeline to be published in Official Journal

Chisinau, 3 May /MOLDPRES/ - More legislative amendments on special procedures of expropriation for the construction of the Ungheni – Chisinau gas transportation pipeline will be published in the 4 May issue of Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).    

Under the document, about 4,600 farmlands owners are to be expropriated through a special procedure. The private lands and the ones owned by administrative and territorial units are placed outside and/or inside the dwelling space of the Chisinau city, villages Tohatin, Stauceni, Gratiesti and Ghidighici (Chisinau municipality); villages Sireti, Roscani, Negresti, Capriana, Vorniceni, villages Radeni, Ghelauza, Panasesti and Bucovat town (Straseni district); villages Tuzara, Pitusca, Niscani, Temeleuti, Peticeni, Valcinet, Sadova and Calarasi town (Calarasi district); village Milesti (Nisporeni district); villages Alexeevca, Parlita, Todiresti, Zagarancea and Radenii Vechi (Ungheni district).    

The procedure will take place concomitantly with the works of construction of the natural gas transportation pipeline Ungheni – Chisinau. Also, the document sees the procedure of payment of compensations for real estate owners.   

The stipulations were elaborated in the context of actions undertaken by the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, in order to facilitate the building of the natural gas transportation pipeline Ungheni – Chisinau. The provisions are aimed at strengthening Moldova’s energy security through diversifying the gas supply sources. This is a goal of major importance, provided for in Moldova’s Energy Strategy till 2030.
