Moldovan government approves state budget rectification for 2018

Chisinau, 10 May /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet of Ministers has approved today changes and additions to the State Budget Law for 2018. The document provides for increase of the national public budget revenues by MDL 963.9 million, expenditures by MDL 1,312.5 million, while budget deficit will increase by MDL 348.6 million, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The revenues and expenditures have increased by MDL 303.5 million and MDL 652.1 million accordingly, at state budget, increasing total deficit to state budget.
The largest increases in expenditures refer to the National, Local, Communal and Street Public Road Repair Programme – MDL 800 million, development of National unique emergency call service 112 – MDL 63.6 million, rehabilitation of the electrical networks – MDL 61.2 million, project for purchase of locomotives and restructuring of railroad infrastructure – MDL 53.2 million, increase of financial norm for children/pupils from 01 September 2018 – MDL 51.2 million.
Also, additional financial resources amounting over MDL 32 million will be allocated to strengthen capacities of the National Integrity Authority (ANI), Anti-Money Laundering Service (SPCSB), Agency for Recovery of Criminal Goods (ARBI) within the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), to cover expenses of Central Electoral Commission (CEC) for local elections. It also includes finalising conditionality process for receiving the first installment of EU macro – financial assistance.
The expenditures for social benefits will increase by MDL 16.7 million, resulting from growth of money aids and payment of indemnities upon termination of labour relations.
Similarly, increase of revenues to state budget was determined by acceleration of economic growth rates, increase of foreign trade, as well as by increase of average monthly salary on economy. Compared to approved budget, it is expected an increase in own revenues, mainly due to taxes and duties.
Thus, the revised parameters of the state budget for 2018 are as follows: revenues –MDL 36 billion 922 million, expenses – MDL 41 billion 984.5 million, while budget deficit will amount to MDL 5 billion 62.5 million.
The draft budget rectification is to be submitted to Parliament for consideration.
