Moldovan PM says authorities see rapprochement with EU with less statements, more concrete actions

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip late on 10 May participated in a reception held on the occasion of Europe Day in Chisinau. On this occasion, the prime minister addressed a congratulatory message to all those who support the European values. Filip noted that EU is the most ambitious project of cooperation between states, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
“The European Union means, first of all, freedom and prosperity. This is how we regard it and in this way we want to edify Moldova – based on these values,” Pavel Filip said.
In the context, the PM thanked for the constant support provided by EU to Moldova and for intention to boost the cooperation, proved including at the Moldova-EU Cooperation Council from 3 May this year. “We see the rapprochement with EU namely in this way – with less statements and wavings of flags, but with more concrete actions and results achieved. The ambitious objective this government set from the first day was that our country’s European integration becomes irreversible. I am sure that we are already quite close to this goal,” the prime minister said.
For his part, Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Peter Michalko praised the positive developments in Moldova. “We remain committed in the relation of political association and European integration with Moldova and we are happy with the concrete results which highlight this cooperation,” the EU official noted.
