Moldovan medical institutions to cooperate with business environment to attract investments, develop services, say authorities

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ – The medical institutions will work with business community to attract investment and develop healthcare services. The statement was made today by PM's healthcare adviser, Mircea Buga, during a meeting of experts organised in partnership with the Economic Council to Prime Minister.
The meeting was organised by the Union of Private Medical Sanitary Institutions (UIMSP) with participation of representatives of the Economic Council to Prime Minister. The major topic of the event is discussion of sustainability and transparency of healthcare investments.
"Investing in healthcare is an investment in the future of the country. The trust of citizens in healthcare system has increased threefold recently. The authorities then propose that healthcare services be streamlined by simplifying procedures. We also want de – bureaucratisation of medical institutions and there continues fight against corruption. In this process, we are glad that we have the support of foreign partners, which approves idea that a strong business environment will increase revenues to state budget, and then money will be successfully invested in modernisation of medical services," said Mircea Buga.
Present at event, international experts presented healthcare practices of the European states, data on system of monitoring the efficiency of medical services and info about providers of the medical services.
At his part, General Secretary of the Ministry of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection (MSMPS), Boris Gilca, said that experience of European countries would help Moldova to advance in the modernisation of medical services.
"We want an efficient and de – bureaucratic medical system so that citizens can trust system and the provided services. We realise that we can modernise healthcare services by ensuring a balance between medicine and business environment, permitting development of joint programmes. In future, we will also focus on reform of hospitals, as to be transformed and upgraded. In all the initiated actions, we expect proposals, suggestions and comments from partners and experts so as to achieve best result," said Gilca.
At the event, international and Moldovan experts also discussed potential actions meant to ensure transparency and efficiency of fund allocation in healthcare domain, promotion of European strategies and practices, and establishment of a dialogue and cooperation platform for all involved parties.
