Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/ - A block with 30 social flats is to be made available for living in the northern Glodeni district. The project started on 11 May and is scheduled to be finished in the first half of 2019.
The decision on the construction of the block in Glodeni was approved by the committee on supervising the unit of implementation of the project on construction of dwellings for disadvantaged segments II (UIP II).
Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Minister Liviu Volconovici has said that, under the decision by the committing on UIP II, the completion of a construction started in early 1990s had been approved. ‘’This will be a block with ground floor and four stories, flats with three, two and one chambers. The overall cost of the project is about one million euros. Sixty per cent of all sum is provided by the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) and 40 per cent represents the contribution, including the non-financial one, of local public authorities. The dwellings will be finished ‘’to key’’, endowed with sanitary units, gas stove range, autonomous heating system, PVC windows, interior doors, painted walls and ceilings, floor, grit stone, laminate flooring,’’ the minister noted.
Beneficiaries of flats will be families with many children, young specialists employed at budgetary institutions, disabled people, etc.
In 2009-2011, within the first phase of the project on construction of social dwellings in Moldova, 30 social flats were already built in the Glodeni district.
Social dwellings are constructed in Moldova within a project financially backed by CEB, which provides Moldova with a loan worth 20.4 million euros for a repayment period of up to 20 years. Till late 2018, when the second phase of the project will be completed, about 700 social dwellings will be constructed in eight districts of Moldova.
