Moldovan parliament speaker participates in summit of speakers of Black Sea Economic Cooperation member states

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu participates in a summit of the speakers of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) member states, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The event, organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of BSEC, will take place in Istanbul on 16 May. The summit of the parliament speakers of the BSEC member states represents the highest forum organized on the occasion of the Organization’s 25th anniversary.
At the summit, Andrian Candu will give a speech on the role of parliaments in strengthening the economic cooperation between the Black Sea region states. The summit will end with the signing of a joint declaration by the speakers of the member states of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation on the occasion of BSEC’s 25th anniversary.
In Istanbul, Andrian Candu will have meetings with more officials attending the event, including President of the Great National Assembly of Turkey İsmail Kahraman, President of the Romanian Senate Calin Popescu-Tariceanu and Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze.
This year, BSEC marks the 25th anniversary of its foundation. The Organization was set up by representatives of nine countries, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine, in Istanbul in 1993. BSEC represents an important platform for consolidating the regional cooperation and turning to good account the economic potential between the member states.
