Romania's Embassy in Moldova organizes concert dedicated to Europe Day at Organ Hall

Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - A concert within the Europe Day in Moldova, organized by the Embassy of Romania and the Mihai Eminescu Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR Chisinau), took place at the Chisinau-based Organ Hall on 15 May evening.
Attending the event were Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Daniel Ionita, the director of the aforementioned institute, Valeriu Matei, civil servants, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau.
The event is part of a string of actions organized by the Embassy of Romania and ICR Chisinau within the Centenary Programme.
The concert was given by the Organ Hall’s National Chamber Orchestra, conducted by master Cristian Florea, National Chamber Choir of the Organ Hall, led by Ilona Stepan and soloists: Lola Croitoru (violin), Cristian Florea (cello), Anna Strezeva (organ), Nadejda Erhan (piano), Ion Negura (flute) and Stefan Negura (panpipe).
Works by W.A . Mozart, A. Vivaldi, F. Chopin, L. Janaček, E. Grieg, B. Bartók. G. Enescu, M. Bruch, P. Mascagni, L. Boëllmann, C. Arvinte and other composers were included in the programme.
The concert ended with the European Union’s Anthem, Ode to Joy, composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, lyrics by Friedrich Schiller. The Ode was sung by the National Chamber Orchestra of the Organ Hall, conducted by master Cristian Florea, and the National Chamber Choir of the Organ Hall, led by Ilona Stepan.
