Romania to provide 920,000 euros to Chisinau city hall to restore stairs in park from Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall will benefit from a grant worth over 18,970,000 lei (920,000 euros) on behalf of the local council of the Bucharest Sector 1, to restore the granite stairs from the Valea Morilor park. The Chisinau acting general mayor, Ruslan Codreanu, made statements to this effect on a visit to Bucharest today.
According to Codreanu, the Chisinau city hall, from the local budget, assumes expenses of five per cent of the project’s overall value, which represents about 945,000 lei, as well as spending for designing, technical assistance, works of carrying out expertises of project documentation and technical supervision of the works.
The project’s implementation will start on the immediately next period and the works will be carried out during 14 months.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the spokesman for the Chisinau city hall, Vadim Branzaniuc, said that the access to the stairs due to be constructed was from the Alexei Mateevici Street from the capital. “The project and works are to be carried out by specialists from Moldova,” Branzaniuc noted.
The reconstruction works are financed based on an agreement on cooperation, signed between the Sector 1 of the Bucharest municipality and the praetor’s office of the Centru district from Chisinau city.
The Staircase of Cascades and Rotunda were inaugurated in October 2016. At that time, the project cost 15 million lei – money earmarked from the Chisinau city hall’s budget.
