Chisinau, 16 May  /MOLDPRES/ - The compensations provided by the state to budgetary employees for purchasing dwellings within the First Home 2 programme might be offered just beginning with 1 June 2018. The general state secretary of the Finance Ministry, Ion Chicu, has made statements to this effect at a TV programme.

According to Chicu, the draft which stipulates a regulation on providing 50 per cent of the cost in buying dwellings for employees of the state’s structures was given the final touches and submitted to the cabinet for consideration.

Ion Chicu said that the First Home 2 programme was aimed at diminishing the fiscal burden of the mortgage loan on employees of the budgetary institutions.

Under the regulation published on the Finance Ministry’s webpage, young people who worked at least one year at state’s institutions will be eligible for this programme. The regulation sets a formula of calculating the compensations offered proceeding from the maximal cost of a dwelling of 500,000 lei, with the repayment of 50 per cent of the cost during 25 years and maintaining the concerned formula no matter the contract’s term.

The transfer of the compensation is seen to be made monthly, directly to the banking account used by the applicant at the crediting institution for the discounts related to the mortgage loan. For 2018, the volume of allocations provided for to this end amounts to 20 million lei, included in the state budget for this year. Yet, the authorities informed that the sum would be adjusted annually, depending on the requests received from public authorities and the resources available in the budget.

At a news briefing on 15 May, the spokesman for the Moldovan Democratic Party (PDM), Vitalie Gamurari, said that the First Home 2 programme would be soon launched in Moldova. Within this programme, the state will pay a half of the cost of the dwellings bought by state employees.
