Moldovan writers union's prizes gala designates winners

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ – There were awarded more prizes today for books published in 2017 at the Moldovan Writers Union Gala Awards, which took place in Chisinau municipality.
The President of the Writers Union of Moldova (USM), Arcadie Suceveanu, has said that Gala of Prizes is a celebration of artistic writing and already has an old and beautiful tradition of highlighting books and authors within one year of literature. "Our objective is to appreciate literary production of 2017," evoked Arcadie Suceveanu.
The jury and Council of USM awarded the prizes. Thus, Eugenia Bulat won prize for best poetry book for volume "Dialogurile strainei cu vechiul sau prieten Alter" (The dialogues of stranger with her old friend Alter), the Prize for Romanian – Doina Postolachi for volume "Ambroise" and short prose award – Anatol Moraru for book "Punct de vedere" (Point of view).
In essay, critique and literary history category, Maria Pilchin received prize for volume "Poezie, eros si putere" (Poetry, Eros and power), and in the category of literature for children and youth the prize was awarded to Petre Popa for volume "Blazonul vesniciei" (The eternal flame). In category of translation book, Alexandru Vakulovski got prize for volume "Elcin. Capul" (Elcin. The head), and in category of journalism, Valentin Gutu took prize for volume "Dusi cu Titanicu" (Gone with Titanic). Elena Druta was awarded prize in category of debut album for "Fiind imagine" (Being a picture).
The Opera Omnia Award, given by Council of USM, was given to writer Paul Goma, and the prize of excellence – writers Vasile Garnet and Nicolae Rusu. Writer Iurie Colesnic won Cultural Relations award, and Igor Volnitschi – Nizami Award for Translation. Andrei Turcanu and Nina Corcinschi were awarded Prize of USM for volume "Cartea din mana lui Hamlet" (The book in the hand of Hamlet), and Irina Nechit – for book of children "Caruselul primaverii" (The spring carousel) and Serghei Evstratiev – for satire volume "Un praznic la Cusmaria" (A feast at Cusmaria).
Also, the prize of USM Council for promoting cultural activities was awarded to journalist Lidia Popodneac and AIS MOLDPRES reporter for culture. Florentin Leanca, the plastic artist, was distinguished by USM Prize for illustrating Danya magazine in Azerbaijan.
