UNO supports total, unconditional withdrawal of foreign troops from territory of Moldova

Chisinau, 22 June /MOLDPRES/ – Today, in New York, the UN General Assembly has approved by a majority vote the draft resolution on "The complete and unconditional withdrawal of foreign military forces from the territory of the Republic of Moldova", the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The document was supported by 64 states.
This initiative was formulated by Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, in his speech at the UN General Assembly tribune on 22 September 2017.
"It is a great symbolic victory today for international law in general and for the Republic of Moldova in particular. The UN supports the withdrawal of Russian troops, it is an important factor of international moral pressure, Moldova has got a recognised legitimate cause," said PM Pavel Filip.
