Moldovan police urge demonstrators to protest peacefully on 24 June

Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/ - The police will ensure the public order at a protest scheduled for 24 June. At the same time, the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) has launched a special service of communication between the police and demonstrators titled, Dialogue.  

The management of more Interior Ministry’s (MAI) subdivisions today held a news conference, during which it came up with a string of recommendations for the protesters, as well as for the their organizers. The police representatives informed that enhanced security measures had been taken for a good carrying out of the demonstrations and parkings had been set for people due to come from districts.  

To avoid conflict situations, IGP demanded that the protesters observe the legislation and do not bear banned objects.  

At the same time, IGP inspectors that they had opened a criminal file against people suspected of inciting to violence and mass disorder.

The participants in the protest will be able to park their personal cars in specially arranged parkings nearby the Circus, Mihai Viteazul and Columna Streets, as well as outside the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.  

Also, the authorities said that, during the protest, the public transport would be re-directed to adjacent streets.

A protest held against the decision on non-validation of the new local polls in the Moldovan capital was announced for Sunday, 24 June.
