Former Moldovan parliament speaker to be buried at Central Cemetery from Chisinau

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/ - A former parliament speaker, Dumitru Motpan, will be buried at the Central Cemetery from Armeneasca Street of Chisinau on 25 June.

According to a press release by the Parliament-90 Association, the corpse of the departed Dumitru Motpan will be set for a farewell ceremony at the Palace of the Republic during 10:00-12:00 on 25 June.

Dumitru Motpan was born in the Seliste village, central Nisporeni district, on 3 May 1940. Motpan held the offices of deputy parliament speaker during 1994-1997 and parliament speaker in 1997-1998. He was also MP in the first parliament and one of the signatories to the Declaration of Independence and was awarded the Order of the Republic. Dumitru Motpan died on 23 June 2018.
