Traffic of heavy goods vehicles on national roads to be restricted

Chisinau, 25 June /MOLDPRES/- The traffic of heavy goods vehicles on national roads will be temporarily restricted. The prohibition concerns vehicles with a total weight of more than 20 tonnes and is valid for days when the air temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius between 10.00 and 20.00.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, the restriction of road traffic is necessary to protect road asphalt.

At the same time, local public authorities will set up similar restrictions on the asphalt road sections of the localities in order to ensure their integrity.

Only vehicles performing transport of people, livestock and perishable products involved in major force interventions, those with first-aid equipment or trained in the prevention, winding-up of emergency situations and vehicles involved in road rehabilitation will be exempt.
