Moldovan deputy premier meets OSCE PA delegation

Chisinau, 26 June /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic had a meeting with a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE PA), led by OSCE PA head George Tsereteli (Georgia), a member of the OSCE PA Group for Moldova. The delegation included OSCE PA Secretary General Roberto Montella (Italy), OSCE PA Presidential Advisor Loic Poulain and Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
Lesnic assured that Chisinau has political will to continue implementing the already signed protocol decisions and to maintain the same positive dynamics in the negotiations and sectoral working groups.
Officials discussed the latest developments in the negotiation and in the context of implementing the priorities of the so-called Berlin plus package, pointing out the measures taken to meet the agreed commitments in the Rome Protocol of 29-30 May 2018.
The sides also pointed out the concrete results in the context of the Italian Presidency in the OSCE, obtained at the level of the experts on both banks of the Dniester, as well as with the participation of the political representatives in the negotiations for the Transnistrian settlement on behalf of Chisinau and Tiraspol.
At the same time, Lesnic noted that the approval of the UN General Assembly Resolution "On the complete and unconditional withdrawal of foreign military forces from Moldova" is a strong signal of the international community.
For his part, George Tsereteli appreciated the recent results of the negotiation process, and assured that the OSCE PA will fully support Chisinau in advancing the dialogue with Tiraspol.
At the same time, an exchange of views was made in order to formulate recommendations on how the OSCE PA could contribute to improving activity in Moldova and further supports the development of the country, and protracted conflicts.
The last visit to Chisinau of the OSCE PA Group for Moldova took place in March 2017. OSCE PA is made up of representatives of the parliaments of 56 countries.
