Chisinau, 26 June /MOLDPRES/ - On June 26, 2018 in Avdarma (Gagauzian village), the Center for Promotion and Protection of the Young Womens Rights organized the workshop "Modern Pro-Active Education Methods in Human Rights Education Used in the EU".
The workshop was organized for people who have a significant impact on the formation of the outlook and values of young people - teachers.
The workshop for the teachers from both banks of Nistru was a joint one, and as a result constant communication and contacts will gradually form between the pedagogical communities, and trust between them will increase.
The European Union and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bucharest fund this workshop.
During the workshop, the teachers learned about modern proactive methods of teaching human rights applied in the European Union. As the head of the Office of the People's Advocate in Comrat, Svetlana Mironova mentioned, the issues of education have traditionally occupied a fairly prominent place among the key issues related to the system of European integration. The Lisbon summit of the European Council in March 2000 adopted a document called the EU Memorandum on Lifelong Learning. The memorandum highlighted that lifelong learning should become the main political program of civil society, social cohesion and employment.
During the workshop, teachers understood that human rights reflect the basic needs of a human being, establish basic standards, without which people cannot live with dignity.
It was useful for teachers, especially the ones from Transnistrian region, to learn that human rights are enjoyed by everybody equally, everywhere and always, they are universal, indivisible, interdependent and interrelated, they cannot be taken away - never; all rights are equally important and mutually complementary: for example, the right to participate in the administration of the state and in free elections depends on freedom of speech.
Theoretical material was supplemented by practical exercises: rapprochement games, "Announcement of acquaintance" exercise, "Compliments", "Born to be equal", "Crystal people" game, watching the video "Following the DNA tracks", as well as the discussion of case studies from the Council for preventing and eliminating discrimination and ensuring equality, and the presentation "International legislation on the prevention of discrimination".
The relevance of the presented information, and its practical orientation determined the participants' great interest in the event, they noted that they learned a lot of useful information that can be successfully applied in educating youth on human rights issues.
The teachers highly appreciated the workshop and thanked the organizers for organizing it, as well as the European Union and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bucharest, noting that it will be useful to continue to organize similar workshops, also for teachers from the two banks of the Nistru, which will facilitate the real rapprochement of Moldovan teachers and the ones from Transnistrian region, the growth of their professionalism in high quality education of young people in human rights, the formation of their democratic views and ideals.
