Moldovan energy regulator informs about new ceiling prices for petrol, diesel

Chisinau, 26 June /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has announced the ceiling prices for fuels for the next two weeks. The price for petrol is by 0.05 lei lower than earlier and for diesel – by 0.09 lei.
The ceiling price for the most demanded Premium-95 petrol was set at 19.10 lei for one litre and for diesel – at 17 lei per one litre for 27 June – 10 July.
The new prices for petrol and diesel will enter into force at midnight. Operators will no longer have right to sell fuels by retail at higher prices than the ones set by ANRE.
The energy regulator explains that the price of 19.10 lei per one litre of petrol was set while taking into account the quotations of 8.91 lei/litre, excise quota of 3.76 lei for one litre, specific trade margin of 3.25 lei and the value added tax (VAT) of 3.18 lei for one litre.
When estimating the ceiling price for diesel, decision-makers took into account including 9.16 lei per one litre according to the quotations, 1.76 lei the excise quota, specific trade margin of 3.25 lei and VAT of 2.83 lei for one litre.
ANRE noted that, according to the law on oil products market, the ceiling selling retail prices for petrol and diesel are calculated based on the average Platts quotations, recalculated in Moldovan lei, proceeding from the average official exchange rate of the national currency against the U.S. dollar, established by the National Bank of Moldova, for the last 14 calendar days.
The average Platts quotations dropped by 13.26 dollars for one ton of petrol and 14.66 dollars for diesel against the present ceiling prices. The average exchange rate of the national currency stood at 16.8264 lei for one dollar. Thus, the diminution of the Platts average quotations, recalculated in Moldovan lei, was 0.05 lei for one litre of petrol and 0.09 lei for one litre of diesel, including the VAT.
The other components of the ceiling price in the last two weeks remained unchanged, being made up of the 20-per cent quota of value added tax, excise quota of 3.76 lei for one litre and 1.76 lei for one litre of diesel.
