Moldovan PM refers upon need of strong US leadership in ensuring regional security

Chisinau, 26 June /MOLDPRES/ – Withn visit to Washington, Prime Minister Pavel Filip has participated in a round table, organised by Executive Vice President of Atlantic Council, Damon Wilson. The event brought together experts from the US State Department, Defence Department, as well as representatives of Institute of Peace and US Agency for International Development, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The Prime Minister talked about promoted reforms by Executive, mentioning in particular the progress made in rehabilitation of financial – banking system and increasing competitiveness of economy key sectors, including due to US assistance. "We are very well aware that without external investments and without a favourable investment climate we will not be able to make a qualitative leap towards modernizing the country and creating jobs for citizens," affirmed PM.
In other order of ideas, the Premier referred upon importance of strengthening the Moldovan-American cooperation in promoting regional and global stability: "We need a strong US leadership in ensuring security in the region and we count a lot on such support."
Taking into account the current security challenges, the Executive Vice President of Atlantic Council has noted that the US will further support Moldova within efforts to counter foreign interference and help accelerate democratic transformation in Moldova.
