Meteorologists announce yellow code of heavy rains, floods

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has announced yellow code of heavy rains, lightning, storm and hail, which will be valid from 27-30 June.

According to meteorologists, starting this evening, a sudden change of weather, accompanied by several dangerous phenomena, is foreseen throughout the country.

At the same time, on 27 June-1 July, SHS issued yellow code of local floods. Thus, in connection with the meteorological warning of the heavy rains, on some small rivers and in the low places the hydrologists predict the local increase of the water level by 0.5-1.0 m. It is also possible to form intensive leakage on slopes with local flood risk.

In this context, the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and the Environment has warned the economic agents, under which there are reservoirs, to check the condition of dams and bring them in order, where necessary.

At the same time, meteorologists show that the weather will cool slightly tomorrow. Thus, during the day, the maximum air temperature could drop to +25 degrees Celsius.
