New committee to be set up in Moldovan parliament

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law amending and supplementing the Parliament's Regulation will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 29 June.
Following amendments to the Regulation, it was decided to set up a standing committee to examine the Court of Accounts’ reports. The new commission will be called the Public Financial Control Commission and will be operational in the next parliamentary term.
The new provisions also include a new concept, the external audit, and assume that the Public Financial Control Commission will be responsible for ensuring the legal framework on external public audit and the organization of the supreme audit institution. It will consider the annual and audit reports of the Court of Accounts and audited entities, will control the examination of petitions and the organization of public audiences on the use of public patrimony, will examine parliamentary control over the activity of the central and local authorities in order to apply the legislation on the use of public financial resources, as well as will execute the decisions of the Constitutional Court in the field.
The new regulations also stipulate that parliament will hear in plenary sessions the annual report of the Court of Accounts presented before 1 May and the annual report on the administration and use of public financial resources and public patrimony submitted by 15 September.
Also, the Court of Accounts will annually carry out the audit of the government's reports on the execution of the state budget, state social insurance budget and mandatory health insurance funds. The reports will be submitted by 1 June and heard in plenary sessions of Parliament.
