Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - A draft resolution stipulating support for Moldova and its territorial integrity will be considered by the U.S. Congress. Prime Minister Pavel Filip, who has recently returned from a visit to the USA, made statements to this effect.
The PM noted that, within the visit, he had had discussions with more members of the House of Representatives and the Senate. “This relation of ours with them is important, given the fact that a Resolution on Moldova is presently submitted to the Congress,” Filip said.
The prime minister also said that another Resolution concerning Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine had been recently filed. “We made sure that the members of the Congress and Senate will back these resolutions. This political support in our pro-Western integration is very important for us, especially in an electoral year, when we know very well that all statements will escape control and it is quite important that Moldova’s citizens also see this support on behalf of the United States,” Filip added.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip on 24-26 June paid a working visit to the United States, where he had more meetings with high-ranking officials.
