Moldovan parliament speaker meets Romania's ambassador

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today had a meeting with Ambassador of Romania to Moldova Daniel Ionita, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
At the meeting, the officials highlighted the pronounced dynamic of the bilateral dialogue, confirmed by those over 20 bilateral visits in the last three months.
The speaker reiterated interest in the completion of the projects on Moldova’s interconnection to the European energy market. Andrian Candu stressed that the parliament, at a today plenary meeting, would discuss the draft law on the ratification of the contract on financing between Moldova and the European Investment Bank (EIB) on electric interconnection Moldova – Romania. Earlier, the parliament has declared the gas pipeline Ungheni-Chisinau as public utility of national interest and voted a string of legislative acts to this end.
The discussions were also focused on the degree of implementation of important projects financed by the Romanian government within the programme on assistance for development provided to Moldova. At the same time, Andrian Candu appreciated the partnership of the parliament with the Ministry for the Romanians Abroad and the Embassy of Romania in Moldova, thanks to which Moldovan young people annually go to leisure camps from Romania. On 14-21 August 2018, 38 young people – the most active participants in the photo contest EU sunt EUropa (I Am Europe), organized by the parliament, will benefit from a vacation at the seaside in Romania, within the ARC programme of camps from Sulina.
The officials also tackled the subject on the extension and diversification of the commercial and economic cooperation, reiterating the importance of holding the 11th session of the joint inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation in Chisinau in next autumn.
