Chisinau residents may choose social projects due to be financed from municipal budget

Chisinau, 16 July /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau residents on the next days are expected to come to voting boxes set at the headquarters of the city hall and the district praetor’s offices of the Moldovan capital, in order to choose social projects due to be financed from the municipal budget. Most projects deal with the arrangement of play-grounds for children, setting squares, illumination of historical buildings and parks’ rehabilitation.      

According to the Chisinau city hall’s press service, the voting procedure for the projects submitted for financing from the Civil Budget fund started in late last week and will last till 2 August 2018. The Chisinau residents may ask for ballot papers in the office 8 of the city hall or may vote online on the official webpage of the Chisinau city hall: www.chisinau.md at the column, Vote Projects for Civil Budget.   

The quoted source also said that each citizen may opt for a big project, as well as for a small one. To be given a ballot paper, citizens need identity card. In praetor’s offices, the ballot boxes will be set in specially arranged places.    

This year, citizens submitted for financing 73 projects through the participatory budgeting mechanism. Forty one projects of them have been accepted for the voting procedure. Three million lei was earmarked from the Chisinau municipal budget to enforce the law on civil budgeting in 2018.
