Moldova first ever takes part in International Danube Festival

Chisinau, 18 July /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova has participated in the International Danube Festival for the first time ever. The national culture, tourist destinations from Moldova and the Moldovan wine were promoted at the event. The festival took place the cities of Ulm and Neu-Ulm from Germany and lasted ten days. At the same time, the festival brought together more than 300,000 visitors.    

The participants in the event were able to taste over 15 types of Moldovan wines and were impressed by their special qualities. At the same time, meetings were organized with distributors and restaurants from the Ulm and Neu-Ulm cities, as well as with regional tourist agencies, in order to establish cooperation contacts. The German public showed interest also in tourist routes from Moldova, especially wine, rural and religious ones.      

According to an adviser at the economic relations office of Moldova’s general Consulate in Frankfurt on Main, Alexandru Vlasenco, the event, in which delegations from ten states participated, included more topics, among which the promotion of wine tourism and industry, presentation and sale of craftsmanship objects, promotion of the national culture and organization of a camp for pupils from Danube countries.    

The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry said in a press release that Moldova had been represented at the event by the companies Winetours Moldova, Asconi, Cricova, Chateau Vartely, Mimi, Fautor, Bostavan, popular craftsmen Maxim Alexeev and Natalia Golobciuc, acoustic music band Cuibul (The Nest), as well as teachers and pupils of the Mihail Kogalniceanu Romanian-German lyceum from Chisinau.    

Moldova’s participation in the festival was organized by the General Consulate from Frankfurt on Main and with the active support of the Moldovan Honorary Consulate in Stuttgart.
