Moldovan parliament awards to be given on Independence Day

Chisinau, 24 August /MOLDPRES/- On Independence Day, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu will award the distinctions of Moldovan parliament at an official ceremony, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Personalities with remarkable results in various fields will be decorated by Candu with "Medal of Democracy", with diplomas of honor and first degree diplomas of the parliament. Distinctions will be awarded to personalities who have made a remarkable contribution to promoting the image of the state, culture, development and reforms. Candidates were submitted by public authorities at the request of the speaker.
The "Medal of Democracy" is awarded for contribution to promoting reforms, defending citizens' constitutional rights and freedoms, promoting parliamentary traditions, special merits in the field of professional activity and devotion to special missions to ensure security of the country.
"Diploma of Honor" is given to promote the interests and image of Moldova, national traditions and values, both in the country and abroad, for building and using cultural heritage of the country, outstanding achievements in didactic and research activity, consolidating bilateral diplomatic relations and cooperation with national parliaments of other states.
The "Diploma of Moldovan Parliament" is awarded for a significant contribution to the development of science, art, culture and sport, for active participation in the elaboration of state policies, irreproachable activity within the central public administration authorities, civic initiative and philanthropic actions, remarkable successes in studies and prize-winning places at international Olympics.
Parliament awards were set up in 2017.
