Firefighters resume actions to install smoke detectors in localities of Moldova

Chisinau, 17 October /MOLDPRES/ – The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) has announced that it will continue the fire risk prevention campaign entitled: A protected house – A life saved, which started in 2017. Thus, more dwellings in the north and south of Moldova will be equipped with smoke detectors free of charge.
The head of IGSU Press Service, Liliana Puscasu, has said that 20 free families in village Chiscareni, Sîngerei district, benefited from free detectors in 2018. These ones were visited by firefighters today, which also placed the facilities in rooms where the stoves work.
According to IGSU's information and media communication service, the older people, families with many children or persons with disabilities will benefit of smoke detectors. The firefighters mounted nearly 3,000 detectors in cold season of 2017.
