Moldovan MPs operated amendments to law on medical devices

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/- The National Agency for Public Health will be responsible for supervisory and control in medical devices. A bill in this regard was adopted today by the parliament in first reading.
ANSP will be empowered with supervisory and control skills including radiological and nuclear safety of medical devices. It will control the market of these devices, issue prescriptions, apply sanctions and restrictive activity measures.
At the same time, the institution will monitor the actions of economic agents on the enforcement of prescriptions and the removal of violations, will review reports on the risks that arise in connection with medical devices.
Other amendments stipulate that the entrepreneur will be required to have at least one specialist in the field or a bio-engineer to carry out import, manufacturing, marketing, technical assistance or repair of medical devices and optics, except for pharmacies and medical optics stores.
