Chisinau, 08 November /MOLDPRES/ – Also in 2018, Christmas will be celebrated at the European – style home at the Christmas Fair organised by the Government at the initiative of Prime Minister, Pavel Filip. On 15 December – 15 January, the inhabitants of Moldova will enjoy a wide artistic programme and several events organised for the second consecutive year in Chisinau. The Cabinet of Ministers has approved today the rules of operation of the Christmas Fair, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
Pavel Filip mentioned that Chisinau was brought to European capitals in 2017 by organising the Christmas Fair, and all the citizens, including over 5,000 children which had free access to entertainment, enjoyed the created atmosphere. "The good news is that this year the Christmas Fair is coming back. I believe that beyond all issues we are still facing in Moldova and the effort we are making to solve them, we must learn to rest, as well, like in Europe. I have all the certainty that the organisers will also offer us beautiful moments this year," said PM.
Like in 2017, thousands of children from placement centres, from socially vulnerable families, as well as from the left bank of the Dniester river, will be able to visit the Christmas Fair with the support of Government.
For the Christmas Fair it has been allocated MDL 8 million. The fair will take place on street 31 August 1989, in the metropolitan area of streets G. Banulescu-Bodoni and A. Pushkin. In 2017, for the first time, at the initiative of PM Pavel Filip, Chisinau aligned itself with the big European cities which organise fairs. The Christmas Fair recorded over 1 million visits (entries) and 5,369 socially disadvantaged children visited the Trade Fair with the support of Government.
