Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ – There were examined a series of issues related to the work and logistics of the peacekeeping posts and the implementation of the protocols previously signed by the parties in the meeting of the Joint Control Commission on 29 November led by the Russian Federation (RF) delegation, the office for reintegration policy’s information and media communication service has reported.
At the same time, during the discussions on the preparation of the agenda, the delegation of Moldova and the Transnistrian region did not reach a consensus on important issues. The disagreements mainly focus on the Security Zone (ZS) monitoring mechanism, but also the so-called "military training and instruction centre for Transnistrian noncommissioned officers" deployed in Bender city, where Tiraspol does not allow members of the Commission to have access to control.
Thus, the proposal of the Moldovan delegation, previously agreed by the representative of Russia, to actually implement the provisions of the protocol signed by the parties in order to improve the observation procedures in ZS, was not supported by the head of the Transnistrian delegation.
Also, there has been no common denominator in penitentiary institutions located in Bender city, subordinated to the National Administration of Penitentiaries. The Moldovan delegation mentioned the blocking of their activity by Tiraspol officials by disconnecting from electricity, drinking water, heating and sewerage. On the other hand, the Transnistrian delegation has repeatedly called for the review of some aspects of the dangerous nature of the institution by including erroneous data on the alleged presence of outbreaks of infection, previously contradicted by the report of the World Health Organisation (WHO), to all interested parties.
In the course of time, the Moldovan delegation reiterated the willingness of the constitutional authorities to fully take over the logistic insurance of post № 09 (left) on the bridge over the Dniester near Vadul lui Voda city. The Transnistrian side opposed this proposal.
At the same time, the representatives of the parties in the Joint Military Command were heard on the developments regarding the activities of the peacekeeping operations. In this respect, the Commission has noted the existence of a consistent dialogue.
At the same meeting, the Commission confirmed Cambarov as a military observer from RF and approved the weekly report on the situation in ZS for 21 – 27 November 2018.
