Director of Chisinau-based hospital dismissed from office

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ – Director of the Clinical Hospital for Traumatology and Orthopedics, Viorel Vetrila, was dismissed today by the Minister of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection, Silvia Radu. Interim Director of the institution will be fulfilled by Sergiu Stepa.

According to Radu, the decision to dismiss the head of the institution came after a check, where there were detected a number of irregularities and deviations from the legal norms. "We made the decision to dismiss the director of the Clinical Hospital for Traumatology and Orthopedics, Viorel Vetrila. According to the provisions of Law №133 of 2016, I asked for a declaration of wealth and personal interests from already the former director of the institution. Viorel Vetrila will send the goods and documentation to the institution of the new interim director, appointed in office, Sergiu Stepa", said the minister.

In early November, the leadership of the Ministry of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection initiated a job investigation on behalf of the former director of the Municipal Clinical Hospital №01 in Chisinau, Iurie Dondiuc. Subsequently, he wrote a resignation request.
