Chisinau, 14 January /MOLDPRES/ - Policemen discovered seven drivers moving drunk with their cars on the days-off. One of the drivers got into the focus of law-enforcers, after he had provoked two traffic accidents and left the scene.

The press officer of the National Patrol Inspectorate (INP), Natalia Golovco, has told MOLDPRES that one of those seven drivers discovered drunk at wheel was  stopped by INP employees on the Iesilor Street from Chisinau, after he had crashed into a Mitsubishi vehicle. The 34-year-old man was driving a Mercedes car and on the same day, the search for him started for leaving the scene of the traffic accident, occurred in the Durlesti town, Chisinau municipality. After subjecting the man to the alcohol test, law-enforcers found out that there was a concentration of 0.75mg/litre of pure alcohol in breathed out air.  Subsequently, the vehicle was carried to a special parking.

According to the quoted source, another case was documented last night, at about 3:20, on the Iurii Gagarin Street from Chisinau, where inspectors noticed a Honda car moving with deviations. Demanded by inspectors to stop, the driver deliberately accelerated and was soon stopped on the Decebal Street. Four persons got out of the vehicles, of whom two women. The driver refused to present the acts, reasoning that he had not been driving the car. As a result, the driver and one of the passengers were escorted to the Police Inspectorate of the Botanica district for documentation and the alcohol test confirmed that the driver was drunk.

INP data shows that, in the last week-end, patrol policemen provided support for removing snow on 82 streets and 74 yards of blocks of flats. Also, INP employees intervened in crossroads from the Moldovan capital to ease the road traffic.
