Moldovan PM calls for notification of mediators, observers within Transnistrian settlement process on case of Varnita village

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) to refer the representatives of the mediators and observers within the Transnistrian settlement process referred to some provocative approaches made recently by the so – called structures in the Transnistrian region regarding village Varnita, Anenii Noi district, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

On 25 January 2019, the Tiraspol leader signed a so – called decision, which states that Varnita village is temporarily under the control of Moldova and there are exercised functions by alleged local structures in village Proteagailovca. The MAEIE is to address representatives from the OSCE, Russia, Ukraine, EU and USA to use the potential of the negotiation format 5+2 so as to end the effects of that provocative action. Also, it will be examined the opportunity to address the issue at the upcoming meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna.
