Moldovan farmers can submit applications for subsidies for 2019

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/- Farmers can submit today applications to get subsidies from the state for 2019.

The announcement was made by the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA).

Acting director of the institution Vadim Curmei said that this year, 900 million lei was earmarked for subsidies.

Last year, a record number of grant applications, reaching over 7,400 applications worth 1 billion lei, was submitted to AIPA. This has made it possible to attract investment in agriculture of 6 billion lei and to create 4,600 jobs.

According to Curmei, most active were small farmers in 2018, and most applications were submitted by farmers in the south of the country. However, most often, the beneficiaries requested state support for the purchase of equipment, establishment of multiannual plantations and livestock farms equipment.

Applications for subsidies can be submitted by 31 October 2019.
