Authorities from south Moldova Gagauz autonomy to back IT business in region

Chisinau, 4 February /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities of the Autonomous Territorial Unit (UTA) Gagauz-Yeri have introduced amendments to the regional legislation, aimed at extending the fund for backing the business specialized in the information technologies (IT).
The head of the autonomy’s department for economic development, Alexandr Chiseev, unveiled the draft today. Chiseev said that the Gagauz government had registered more requests on extending the support for the business environment from UTA Gagauz-Yeri. “Startups, which have been already registered or which are under registration, scientific and technological parks, business incubators, etc. have been already added to the list,” Aleksandr Chiseev said, cited by the website www.gagauzinfo.md.
According to the first deputy governor of the Gagauz autonomy, Vadim Ceban, “we will be able to subsidize the working out of new programme for backing business with this fund.”
„This is something new for the region, or this means that now we will be able to invite experts, will analyze the market, proposing new programmes for business support. Another novelty is that we will start helping enterprises from the information technologies sector. We signed a contract with the firm Innovation Seven, which selected seven students from the Comrat State University, and this group is to include 40 gifted young people. They will have possibility to work in the region, dealing with programming, modern technologies, administration of databases, etc,” Vadim Ceban stressed.
