Moldovan parliament appoints new candidature for office of head of National Energy Regulatory Agency

Chisinau, 7 February /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today appointed Veaceslav Untila to the office of director general of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). Untila’s candidacy was put forward by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and was approved with the votes of 56 MPs.
Veaceslav Untila will take over the position of director general of ANRE’s administrative board after he has held the office of president of the Court of Accounts during two years.
Veaceslav Untila is 63 years old and was lawmaker in Moldova’s parliaments of the 16th, 17th, 18th and 20th legislative periods starting from 2005 till 2016.
Under the law on energy, the National Energy Regulatory Agency is led by an administrative board made up of five directors. The members of ANRE’s administrative board are appointed by the parliament for a six-year mandate.
