Chisinau hosts international exhibition dedicated to tourism

Chisinau, 8 February /MOLDPRES/- Over 90 tourism and hotel industry companies participate in the 24th edition of the international exhibition, Tourism. Leisure. Hotels, taking place at Moldexpo centre. Visitors will be able to analyze the offers displayed at the event until Sunday, 10 February.
The exhibition brings together participants from several countries, such as Bulgaria, Greece, India, Romania, Turkey, Spain, Ukraine and Hungary.
The companies have reserved for visitors the best offers for choosing holiday destinations. They can opt for seaside holidays, mountain tourism or even cruises, depending on preferences and financial resources.
Attending the event, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Iulia Costin said that over the last two years, Moldova has become more visible internationally as a tourist destination and investment attractiveness, hosting some of grandest global events, including the meeting of the Commission for Europe of the World Tourism Organisation and World Wine Tourism Conference.
In 2018, Moldova was visited by 4.3 million foreign citizens, which represents an increase of 11.7 per cent against the previous year.
In January-September 2018, travel agencies and tour-operators provided tourist services to 277,000 tourists, up by 19.6 per cent against the same period of the previous year.
