U.S. officials univocally declare support for Moldova's sovereignty, territorial integrity

Chisinau, 08 February /MOLDPRES/ – Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, paying a working visit to the USA, has had several rounds of talks with US senior officials from the National Security Council, the State Department and Congress of the USA, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
During the meeting with Deputy Assistant to the US President, Director for Europe and Russia at the National Security Council, Fiona Hill, as well as in the US State Department talks, there have been discussed the prospects for developing Moldovan – American cooperation with emphasis on strengthening the Strategic Dialogue, the perspectives of the development of cooperation in the area of info space protection, being examined also the dynamics of the regional and international developments.
The meetings at the US Congress have included talks with co – chairs of the US House of Representatives Friendship Group, Congressmen David Price and Pete Olson, and Senator Ron Johnson, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, reiterating full support for Moldova in its efforts strengthening democracy and economic development.
The head of the Moldovan diplomacy has participated as a main guest at a discussion organised by the Atlantic Council, which brought together the representatives of the US Administration and opinion leaders from Washington D.C., where there was an exchange of views on the development of Moldovan – American cooperation in various areas, being reconfirmed the importance of maintaining Moldova on the agenda of the foreign policy priorities of the American administration.
In all talks held by Minister Tudor Ulianovschi with US officials, it was stressed US univocal support for the independence and territorial integrity of Moldova, as well as the need to intensify cooperation on several dimensions.
In the context of the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Moldova, the US dignitaries have encouraged a free and fair election according to the OSCE standards.
