National Social Insurances House monthly pays 540 pensions to Moldovans settled abroad

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Social Insurances House (CNAS) monthly pays 540 pensions to Moldovan citizens with permanent residence outside Moldova. At the same time, another 700 Moldovans who legally worked in other foreign countries receive pensions on behalf of these states.
Presently, CNAS enforces 11 agreements in the social security sector with Bulgaria, Portugal, Romania, Luxembourg, Austria, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Poland, Hungary and Lithuania. A similar agreement with Germany is the 12th one and will enter into force on 1 March 2019. Another agreement signed between Moldova and Turkey will enter into force after the ratification of the document by both countries. The documents allow, in particular, Moldovan citizens who are legally employed in the concerned states to benefit from pensions and other social payments.
At the same time, next week, a Moldovan delegation will pay an official visit to Athens to negotiate the agreement in the social security sector between Moldova and Greece. According to CNAS, the agreement sees social security guarantees for migrant workers, who carry out or carried out working activity and/or reside on the territory of one or both contracting states.
Data by Moldova’s Embassy in Greece shows that about 8,000 Moldovans have permits of stay in this country and another over 1,000 ones have submitted applications to this end.
