30 young people to benefit from annual scholarships worth 10 thousand lei

Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/- A number of 30 young people will receive annual scholarships worth 10 thousand lei under the Scholarships for Your Future Program. The finalists were awarded at a ceremony held yesterday in Chisinau.

The finalists of the fifth edition of the programme were selected by an expert panel based on the submitted applications. This year, 119 students from 17 higher education institutions in the country participated in the contest.

Minister of Education, Culture and Research, Monica Babuc said at the event that thanks to these scholarships, 30 very good students will focus better on studies, being free of material worries and thoughts on how to ensure some needs on education.

According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, during the four annual editions of the project, 540 students participated in the competition, with a total of 200 scholarships being awarded. The program is meant for young people coming from families with modest incomes, from families with many children who are orphans or under guardianship, and / or with disabilities, both in urban and rural areas. Fellows may use the money to cover study expenses, such as paying the study fee, accommodation costs, meal, transportation, supplies.

The project is implemented by the University Information Center, with the financial support of a commercial bank, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
