Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/ – The Moldovan and Romanian customs authorities have set up more actions to streamline traffic at the common border on Easter holidays. The joint action plan in this regard was signed today by the head of the Customs Service of Moldova (SVM), Vitalie Vrabie, and vice-president of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration of Romania, Stefan – Cosmin Dolis.
The main actions to be undertaken include the replacement of employees, use of all control tracks and synchronisation of actions with Border Police (PF). Also, it will be appointed contact persons to be part of the joint risk analysis groups, thus making the customs control activity more efficient based upon selectivity principle.
"The SVM will activate at maximum capacity to cope with the increased flow of passengers, specific to this period. We have mobilised all our forces to release the flow if it is an increased flow and I will go there myself to check how it is assured. Starting Monday, I shall doublecheck the revised work schedules, but also the lists of intervention teams that we have set on it," said Vitalie Vrabie.
Stefan – Cosmin Dolis has said that the Romanian customs will act where it is found that the cross – border traffic is difficult and ensure its fluidisation by involvement of necessary personnel and making a risk analysis for carrying out a detailed control if needed.
From previous years' experience, there is an increased number of travellers during the Easter holidays at the border.
